Four undergraduate students from the School of Nursing, the University of Hong Kong completed a 14-day academic exchange programme at Ningxia Medical University between May 24 and June 6, 2026.
HKU students attended core nursing courses and finished hands-on skill training in the Basic Nursing Laboratory, including nasogastric feeding techniques, and receiving OSCE assessment training to strengthen the integration of theory and practice. They completed clinical site visits at major local hospitals to study internet-based nursing, tele-medicine and distinctive traditional Chinese nursing practices.At the Ningxia Yuexiang Medical Health and Tourism Center and Yuehai Wanjia Community, they explored mainland elderly care models while experiencing traditional Chinese therapies such as acupuncture and cupping, gaining insight into the fusion of professional expertise and cultural heritage.Additionally, HKU students visited the Western Xia Tombs, the Yellow River Grand Canyon, and HeLan Mountain to learn about local culture.
In feedback session, HKU students commented that the exchange programme greatly broadened their academic and cultural horizons.
